People have been asking me where I've been etc, I tell them I've been in a lovely farmhouse in Suffolk with a bloke who arranges shooting and his wife who cooks proper food from scratch for breakfast and dinner, so you go shooting in the daytime and in the evening sit around eating and enjoying the wine and conversation. - Says it all really.

The following text was sent by one of our clients to BASC who had recommended he contact Anglia Sporting about pigeon shooting opportunities in East Anglia.

To whom it may concern: The week before last I had telephoned to you to request Woodpigeon shooting at very short notice. I was informed that all the information is on the website but a good contact to try first would be Anglia Sporting. I have only the very highest compliments for them. I was received on arrival on Wednesday; I shot with them on Thursday and Friday of last week. A most professional and excellent company. Thank you for some really good days at Park Gate Farm House. I really enjoyed my stay with you, think it was perfect. Of course I would like to have had the chance to shoot more pigeons, but that's the way hunting is. You never know how it will turn out. My stay has definitely been an experience for life. If health and money allows me, I would really like to visit you again next year. Time will show. Once again thank you very much for some exiting days.

For me, I've had the perfect break, it started on Saturday on a day's driven shooting at xxxxxx, was on a Marsh on Sunday and shot my first Snipe, an extremely lucky shot, rough shooting day with good friends on Monday (and a great laugh).Pigeons on Tuesday and then another good day on the Wednesday. You know ,when I stand back and think about xxxxxx sharing lunch in a gun bus with a couple of Suffolk farmers on a rough shoot day in the UK then I just marvel at her change of lifestyle.
I know xxxxxx had a great time, like Lily, she enjoys cooking and she's learned a lot which can only be bad news for my waistline! She's also starting to understand what the dog's job is...!
A big thank you to you both, may all your guests be good ones and have a great season yourself.
See you again sooner rather than later I hope; are we due another email update soon on availability?

Thank you very much for such a superb day to start the season.
As usual with any Anglia Sporting day, it ran perfectly and thank you very much for the very welcome bacon rolls upon arrival and an excellent lunch.

Some general comments
|

I did enjoy the day and I thought the shoot was very well organised and the amount of birds impressive. It's good to have a day with no blank drives. I thought the estate provided good value for money.
Had a really good day all round. The shooting was better than I had hoped for and the hospitality and quality of the cooking surpassed any expectation. Will definitely be back.
A short note, to thank you for such a superb day of wild bird sport. It really did encapsulate all the aspects one could ever hope for and to end up with 23 woodcock and a flight of 19 / 20 teal plus a widgeon (and bits of a snipe!) was simply superb; a personal highlight was the amazing standard of dog work, thank you very much indeed for laying it on.
I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of myself and my guns, to thank you and your team for such a wonderful day.
It is always very difficult buying shooting from an unknown source but I should not have been so apprehensive as, having met you, I can see what a professional Sporting Agent you are and I will certainly be recommending Anglia Sporting and yourself with regards to purchasing shooting in the future.
The Estate was spectacular and the birds were well presented and the whole day went smoothly. I liked 'our hosts' approach to shooting - he had that very Norfolk, laid-back attitude and I can safely say that all my guns had a thoroughly sporting and enjoyable day.
Thank you for putting on such a good day on Saturday - it was exactly what we wanted and we all had a great time. I am sure I will be in touch next year to arrange something for the same weekend next year.
