Welcome to Anglia Sporting

Our rough/walked up days usually consist of 4 to 8 guns with two/three dog-men. We shoot the boundaries and ‘dead’ areas of driven game shoots and sporting farms for all legal ‘furred & feathered’ quarry but predominantly, game, wildfowl, pigeons, rabbits and hares. Later in the season we would expect to shoot a certain amount of Woodcock on these days and possibly snipe. This is walking shooting and you need to be reasonably fit to cover a lot of difficult ground during a day’s sport. Bag numbers vary but we attempt to shoot between 20 to 35 head (i.e. 5/6 head of game per gun) as standard depending upon the number of guns and the bags, which are not guaranteed, will be mixed. If you wish for larger bags, more specific quarry or something different, i.e. Partridges over pointers, Woodcock days, Snipe days or some such please ‘ask the question’.

All guns must carry public liability insurance and/or be members of a field sports organisation such as BASC or CA (insurance included). Foreign visitors bringing their own guns to the UK must also have a Temporary Visitors Permit which we can arrange. Cancellation of any shooting for whatever reason is the responsibility of the individual but we can help arrange cancellation insurance if it is required. Once booked and paid for we will not make refunds.

Please note that we shoot to the BASC Codes of Practice for Shooting. For more details on this please ask for a copy or contact BASC on-line here www.basc.org.uk/cop

We try to make our rough shooting costs as affordable and straight forward as possible. Please contact us for current prices which are per gun/outing with standard bag limits of around 20-35 head depending on the number of guns and the land being shot over. Additional game birds and wildfowl will be charged extra and guns have the opportunity to decide beforehand if they wish to shoot over the standard bag limits. All shoots are accompanied by a guide/keeper. Tips for the guides/keepers are left to individual interpretation.

If you’re shooting with us for just the one day and wish to arrive for breakfast before the shoot or arrange a dinner after the shoot please let us know and we’ll arrange suitable meals. On these rough shoot days we'll provide you with an alfresco lunch, a homemade picnic usually eaten in a suitable barn. We can also arrange suitable accommodation either here in our farmhouse home or in local hotels. Should you wish to visit for a number of days shooting we can organise that either as a block of similar days or mixed i.e. a day’s driven game, a day’s rough shooting, pigeon shooting, rabbiting or any combination you want, just ask but please remember it’s a lot easier to arrange visits such as these for full groups, single guns will need to fit in with others.

We always try to work with each individual hunter to give the best sporting opportunities possible and endeavour to help the guns have a worthwhile visit.
