Anglia Sporting - for the Ultimate Sporting Bird...

General Information

Insurance
Essential in our opinion if you are shooting in the UK. Public Liability to a minimum of £5 million is a good idea. If you belong to a UK field sports organisation such as BASC, CA or CPSA then that membership should cover you but please check if you are a foreign national member otherwise please arrange valid insurance in your country of origin. Remember, No Insurance, No Shooting

Foreign Visitors
If you wish to bring your own guns (shotguns or rifles) to the UK you will require a Temporary Visitors Permit which we can arrange for you. Please ask for details. If you wish to hire a gun from us we will also need the same details.

Clothing
Always suitable colouring for the field but in summer, cool, light with some additional ‘bad’ weather protection just in case. In winter warm, dry clothing, plan for bad weather. At any time of year a hat is essential, a head/face net is good and even better for pigeon shooting.

Accommodation/Food
If staying with us we provide bed, breakfast, packed lunches and evening meals. If you have any special dietary needs please let us know in advance. Accommodation is in twin bedded rooms of which we have 3 available with 2 exclusive bathrooms. Breakfast is usually full English, packed lunches are sandwiches, drink plus cake and/or fruit, evening meals are at least 2 courses plus some beer/wine.

Travel
If flying into the UK our nearest airports are either Stansted or Norwich, then Gatwick, LHR or Luton. If travelling by car/ferry our nearest port is Harwich from Hook of Holland or Dover if taking the Chunnel or a ferry from France.

Our location is rural and you will need the use of a vehicle whilst visiting especially if you have the odd day at either end of your stay when you’re not shooting and wish to sample the ‘tourist’ spots. For less than 4 people a standard mid range car will be OK but for larger groups we recommend the hire of an MPV style vehicle. If you really don’t wish to drive we can arrange a vehicle and driver for the duration of your stay.

Equipment
For pigeon shooting we supply all the kit needed, hides, rotaries and decoys (some types of which you may not have seen before) and anything else that might be required to help make the day a success. We are always willing to offer ‘something different’ in the shooting line so please if you have any particular wants ask us and we’ll see what can be arranged.

BASC Trade Members

We are trade members of the BASC and work to the BASC Code of Practice for woodpigeon shooting, copies of which are available on request.

BASC Logo

You will need to be a member of BASC or similar field sports organisation for insurance purposes and we will require proof of current membership. A valid shotgun certificate will also be required.

Our Strict Policy
• No certificate.
• No insurance.
• No shooting.
